High Peaks Adventure Program

The High Peaks Adventure is an action-packed, two-week adventure for students who have finished 7th or 8th grades. We begin with a backpacking trip in the mountains of central Colorado. While in the backcountry, we take time out for service work on one of Colorado's 14,000-foot peaks. Returning to campus, we gear up for more adventure, tackling three of Colorado's best-known sports. We spend a day rocking climbing, a day mountain biking on local trails, and finish with an exhilarating whitewater rafting trip.

What differentiates us from the many summer adventure programs in the West? We are an accredited non-profit school, and the High Peaks Adventure employs the same high-level wilderness instruction used to teach our high school students. At the same time, we have designed the course for middle school students and place a heavy emphasis on fun and personal growth.

"The best thing about this program was everything – mountain biking was awesome, so was rafting, and backpacking too." High Peaks Adventure '08 alumnus, Germany
