 This year’s Alumni Hut Trip is fast approaching! As you begin to make your plans for winter break and the holidays, remember to put HMI on the schedule!

Here are the details:
Dates: January 3-8, 2010
Cost: $400
Who: HMI alumni

Gear: Borrow what ever you need for no additional cost (skis, boots, jackets, etc.)

The deadline to register is December 1, so sign up now!

We’ll be heading up to Uncle Bud’s Hut, part of the 10th Mountain Division Hut system, for three days of backcountry bliss! We will spend one day at HMI preparing for the trip and then ski a beautiful four miles in to the hut for a three-day/three-night stay. During the stay, we will go on backcountry ski tours, cook delicious meals, sip on hot cocoa, and reminisce about our HMI experiences. This is a great professional development opportunity to learn a little bit more about backcountry skiing and have a ton of fun just relaxing. Past apprentices, Em Powers and Sequoia Bowan, will be leading the trip, Justin will be going in to the hut for the first day or two, other faculty may be joining us.
