Advising

At the beginning of the semester, each faculty member is assigned 3-5 student advisees. Each advisor pays special attention to his/her advisees. In addition to helping the advisees get the most out of their RMS experiences, the advisor often takes the group off campus for special events. As the semester progresses, this relationship often moves beyond basic academic advising as students begin to consult their advisors for guidance on personal issues as well.

From the start of the semester, we address the transitions students must make. The advisors play an important role in helping students adjust to life at HMI. Throughout the semester, they help the students figure out the application of new skills and perspectives to their experiences at their home schools and to their lives in general.
