Transfer of Credit

The sending schools currently grant credit for RMS classes. We send grades and written reports to schools and parents at the middle and end of the semester.

The RMS matches sending school curricula in languages, mathematics, and history. Questionnaires are sent to sending school teachers in these subjects to ensure that appropriate skills are covered at the RMS. Students often return to their home schools at the same level or ahead of their peers. We offer place-based content in English, Natural Science, and Practices and Principles. Although content such as course readings differs from home school courses in these subjects, grade appropriate skills--such as writing, analysis and problem solving--are taught.

Periodically, students are enrolled in a course, such as Latin, at their home school that does not match a course offering at the RMS. In these instances, students enroll in an independent study at the RMS, complete the course during the summer, or arrange class schedules to take the course during the 12th grade year.
