Summer Programs

The High Mountain Institute has proudly offered summer programs for nearly a decade.

We have two main summer programs: 

The Leading Edge is a leadership development and wilderness adventure program for high school students. The Leading Edge empowers students to truly excel in their final years of high school and prepares them to assume leadership roles in college. Our goal is to teach leadership through experience while backpacking through Colorado's Rocky Mountains and to foster an educational and fun environment in the process.

The High Peaks Adventure is a multi-sport introductory program to the outdoors for students who have completed either 7th or 8th grade. Come experience an 8-day backpacking trip in Colorado's Rocky Mountains, a day of mountain biking in Vail, a day of rock climbing, and a day of rafting on Colorado's celebrated Arkansas River!
