From the Director of the Summer Term
Why the Summer Term?
Educate. Build community. Inspire. Explore the wilderness. Year round, working with teenagers in an integrated wilderness and academic setting is what we do.
The Summer Term is a truly unique summer program. It combines the best of a fun, summer wilderness adventure with an intellectually challenging academic program. Our academic program is about learning for the sake of learning. It's about asking questions not for the grade that you'll get but because you've always been curious about the subject.
During the Summer Term you eat, live, learn, grow, and are challenged with your peers. Together. As a group. The bonds formed over the course of the six weeks spent studying and travelling in the rugged Colorado Rockies create friendships that will last a lifetime.
Thank you for exploring the Summer Term. After viewing our website, I hope you'll understand that HMI offers something you cannot find anywhere else: the chance to learn about yourself and the world around you while traveling amidst the splendor of the Great American West. I hope to see you this summer!
Sincerely,
Christina Reiff
