Typical Day on Campus
Rise early for a short trail run along the shores of Turquoise Lake. Return to campus just in time for breakfast and chores. This morning Visit a mine from the 1880s that the EPA has remediated; test the acidity of the former mine's run-off in a nearby stream. Back on campus, enjoy a lunch of homemade chili.
Practices & Principles meets today for an hour after lunch, and then it's time for afternoon activities. Today, you opt for a rock climbing outing to Twin Lakes-not far from the area you visited for a nature writing and journaling activity last week. You return having tried and succeeded on a new route, just in time for dinner. Three of your friends and a faculty member have prepared
dinner for the entire community tonight: burgers with sweet potato fries and a big salad.
After the dishes are done, it's time for quiet study and group work. As the long summer day concludes, grab some friends for a final game of washers before the sun sets. Head back to your cabin in time to hear your cabin-mate play a new song on the guitar before lights out.
