Brittany was born and raised in Minnesota but realized early on that she was drawn to the mountains. In 2009 she moved to Colorado to pursue a degree in Natural Resource Management and Sustainability Studies with a certificate in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Public Land Management from Colorado Mountain College-Leadville. Her sustained connection to the Leadville area has allowed her to work as an adjunct instructor for the Outdoor Recreation Leadership degree program where she teaches college students about ecology and foundational outdoor skills during experiential field expeditions. Teaching students in an outdoor setting is Brittany’s passion. When she’s not teaching, she can be found mountain biking, beekeeping, gardening, or sea-kayak touring. Brittany is thrilled to have the opportunity to exchange knowledge with students and faculty during the upcoming Gap semester.
