Nicholas Bollen

Gap Faculty

Nicholas has been lucky enough to call the Rocky Mountains home for his entire life. Growing up in the Denver area, Nicholas could often be found romping around outside with his twin sister Kate. Whether it be backcountry skiing, rock climbing, bike-packing, or simply walking in the woods, Nicholas has always been drawn to a life outdoors.  Before becoming an Outdoor Educator, Nicholas earned his master’s and bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Colorado at Boulder. Inspired by his love for outdoor education and his want to facilitate life changing experiences for students, Nicholas has spent the past few years working for organizations like the Colorado Outward Bound School, the Dunn School, and Apogee Adventures instructing students of all levels in many course areas and programs. Aside from his love for outdoor pursuits, Nicholas also enjoys salsa dancing, eating chocolate and making bread. Nicholas is beyond excited to join the HMI gap faculty team for the fall of 2020.
